Via Ferrata Les Cordes — Gardenaccia
Inaugurated in June 2019, the Les Cordes via ferrata follows an ancient path once used by La Villa farmers to drive their cattle to the high-altitude Gardenaccia pastures. Today this historic route has become one of the most thrilling and scenically spectacular Alpine experiences in all of Alta Badia.
Access is straightforward: on foot from La Villa's village church or conveniently by the Gardenaccia chairlift. The secured route extends for approximately 400 metres with 200 metres of altitude gain, leading into the heart of the Puez-Odle Natural Park — UNESCO World Heritage. On arrival at Rifugio Gardenaccia, a spectacular panorama opens over the Sass dla Crusc, Conturines and Lavarela massifs.
For those craving more adventure, it is possible to continue towards fascinating mountaineering itineraries: the ascents of Para dai Giai, Sassongher and Somamunt, all the way to the moonlike landscape of the Puez plateau. Via ferrata equipment is mandatory — helmet, harness and kit — available to rent from sports shops in La Villa.
